After an easy and relaxed border crossing into Laos, I hit the dirt straight away, taking the old trail from Hongsa to Luang Prabang.
Due to recent heavy raining, it was a muddy affair. 120 km doesn't sound that much, but I only just made it to Luang Prabang before sunset.
I can assure you that first Beerlao was pure heaven!
