Out In The Jungle! video

Headed out on another of the old smuggling trails, this one going east to Chipat, a small village up in the Central Cardamoms.

Really tuff riding, with logs, rocks, mud, deep sand, rivers, overgrown jungle and very slippery steep mountains to negotiate. Not possible in one day, so we camped in the bush, made a fire, cooked some food and rested our aching bodies. Didn't want to fall asleep, not because of possible big cats, but to just lay in my hammock, look at the stars and listen to all the sounds of the jungle.

Next morning, after a filling breakfast of beans and cheese, we continued our challenging trip towards Chipat. This day there were loads of fallen-down trees, on top of everything else, and we had to strip the bikes of non-important things like mirrors and bags, lay the bikes on the sides and literally drag them under these obstacles! Again, nothing you would manage on your own, so I was glad I had the expert, Nick Berry from Jungle Crossing, with me. Eventually the trail got completely impenetrable, and we decided to head for another village, Trapeang Rung, before it got dark.

A very demanding and tireing day, but well worth the effort!
